Food Microbiology

Microbiological testing for food safety and quality control.

Microbiology panels are selected according to product type, processing, storage, target organism and applicable standard.

What microbiological testing helps answer

  • Is the product microbiologically acceptable for its intended use?
  • Are indicator organisms within the required limits?
  • Is there evidence of contamination or hygiene failure?
  • Does the product meet a buyer, internal or regulatory specification?
  • Does a shelf-life study need microbiological monitoring?

Yeast & Mould

Important for many bakery, beverage, fruit, dairy and other products.

Salmonella

Targeted pathogen testing for relevant high-risk foods and specifications.
